Her Journey so far
Before retirement Lady Brulee had been building up her fitness and showing a lot of promise for her career. During her career she had suffered from anxiety towards the transport, she would panic at the movement and of the trailer itself.
As a 3 year old she became ill with Epiglottic Entrapment, a condition that required immediate medical treatment. Unfortunately she suffered a severe reaction to the medication and this turned quickly into a life threatening emergency. Thanks to the quick actions of Will at Thenford Farm, she was rushed to the horse hospital in time and her life was saved. Her recovery was slow but remarkable, showing just how much heart she truly has.
After regaining her strength Lady Brulee returned to racing but quickly her behaviour changed. She lost motivation and drive but that wasn't her quitting, it was her communicating that she wanted a new purpose and Equicom listened. With her wellbeing at the centre of every decision Equicom paid out her owners and gave her a chance to begin her new life as a Broodmare.
She has embraced this life and is thriving with her first foal, a filly to Wild Ruler. With her nurturing and gentle nature she has shown us that motherhood is where she is meant to be. She is now safely in foal again, this time to In The Congo and continues to do beautifully.
